LIFE ELIA at CIGRE 2014 in Paris

For its 45th edition, the CIGRE 2014 took place in Paris from August 24th to 29th. This week of conference is a major event for all the Transmission System Operator throughout the world...and a great opportunity to give a presentation on the LIFE ELIA project !

CIGRE

CIGRE stands for Council on Large Electric Systems. It is an international non-profit Association for promoting collaboration with experts from all around the world by sharing knowledge and joining forces to improve electric power systems of today and tomorrow, gathering more than 1.000 members in 90 different countries.

Within CIGRE, several study committees are set up in order to focus on specific matters.

Presentation of the LIFE ELIA

Being co-funded by public authorities, we are willing to communicate on our experiences and to exchange know-how with other TSO. Being in Paris for the CIGRE was a great opportunity to present the actions achieved so far as well as the upcoming agenda.

The LIFE ELIA project was presented twice during the week. A first time in the B2 study committee (Overhead lines) by our partners in ELIA, and a second time in the C3 study committee (System Environmental Performance).

Interesting questions were raised on technical aspects and on international contacts outside Europe.

We hope that we contributed to raise awareness on a vegetation management taking biodiversity into account.
