Networking in Luxembourg : Creos and ANF

In the framework of the networking campaign we have recently launched, it was of upmost importance to spread the word to our neighbouring countries. The LIFE ELIA team travelled on the 1st of April to Luxembourg to meet Creos (TSO of Luxembourg) and the Administation of Nature and Forest of Luxembourg.

Meeting with Creos

This interesting meeting allowed the LIFE ELIA team to present the project to the TSO of our neighbour country. It appeared to us that Creos was already managing vegetation in a appropriate way, by selecting and cutting dangerous trees rather than clearing a whole safety corridor. The meeting was planned on a perfect timing since Creos is planning to create a new high tension line crossing forest area located in Natura 2000. The sharing of ideas and know-how was a good spark for a future partnership to feed this ongoing project. Besides, the value of the meeting was increased by the presence of a representative of the Minister of Environment and a member of the Oeko-buro.

Meeting with the Administration of Nature and Forest of Luxembourg

Going to Luxembourg was also an opportunity to meet another stakeholder : the Administration responsible for forest management in Luxembourg. The meeting was separated in a two : a first part during which we presented the LIFE ELIA project, and a second part discussing about the implementation of the Natura 2000 network. We really found interesting to see our project from another point of view.
