Presentation of LIFE results at the ITTECOP conference in Paris

On October 19th and 20th, ITTECOP organised a conference in Paris on the theme "Transport infrastructures, biodiversity, scientific research".

Various presentations addressed the themes of the potential of natural habitats in linear infrastructure rights-of-way, the role they could play in the national Green and Blue Frame policy, their landscape dimension, the ERC process (Avoid, Mitigate, Compensate).

The results of the 6.5 years of the LIFE Elia-RTE project were presented, addressing the real potential of High Voltage linear systems in the creation of green infrastructures and connectivity of habitats and species habitats.

As a follow-up to the LIFE Elia-RTE presentation, RTE presented the follow-up that the company intends to give to this pilot phase of LIFE on the 7 French sites: the project on the perimeter of the PNR des Ardennes which benefits from co-financing from the French State.

RTE's desire to extend biodiversity restoration and revitalisation projects, on a larger scale, in anticipation of feedback.

This feedback on a larger scale will be used to help RTE position its differentiated vegetation management strategy on a national scale.
