What biological diversity in forest corridors? Assessment from four years of inventories.

The achievements of a LIFE project are always accompanied by a series of biological indicators measures to objectively evaluate the effectiveness of these actions. The actions of the LIFE Elia-RTE target very diverse habitats, so we decided to use a broad spectrum of biological groups as indicators.

Inventories were quickly put in place in 2012 (birds, butterflies) while others began gradually (amphibians, reptiles, ...) over the years and the achievement actions on site.

We invite you to consult the evolving reporting that gives both the methodological details and the insights, more or less detailed depending on the groups, on the results on the page of our website dedicated to biological indicators.

Both links present at the bottom of the page refer to a detailed version and a condensed version of the results. These pages will be regularly updated until the end of the project.

Let's also take this opportunity to recall that the LIFE Elia-RTE is by nature a corridor between protected sites Natura 2000 sites and many LIFE projects (ongoing or completed), the collected data could be shared with anyone desiring the analyze and integrate it in a broader reflection.
